About
Mark Probert has spent a life travelling. Born in Hampshire, England, he now lives with his wife Jan in rural Dorset, England. In between these two places he's also lived in the New Forest, Kent, Southampton, Leicestershire, Ayrshire, Sutherland, Cornwall, Shropshire, and Fontainebleau, France. A career in mapping took him to four continents - from Albania to Zanzibar.
As retirement approached, Mark set off to do some trips he'd always wanted to do. The ones he'd put off until there was more time. His first book was called Another Journey through Britain. It describes a road trip from Lands End to John O'Groats by motorcycle. He followed this with a five-week adventure in India - the subject of book number two, called Journey through India. Book number three, Journey through Wales, followed in August 2023... You can see a pattern emerging here. Mark's latest book, Journey through Southern India was published in December 2024 and describes Mark's travels around some of the bits of India he missed on his first visit. The future? Well, there's that ride along Route 66 he always promised himself... and perhaps another trip to India, or South America... oh and maybe one more long distance bicycle ride while the old legs can still manage it. |
